 Supporter Membership
Supporter Membership enables institutions and their researchers to actively support open access publishing through our range of 189 biology, medicine and chemistry journals. Supporter Members pay a flat rate annual Membership fee based on the number of biology, chemistry, physics and medical researchers and graduate students at the institution. Members of the institution are then given a 15% discount on the APC when publishing in our journals.
How is Supporter Membership different from other Membership types?
Supporter Membership allows institutions to pay a fixed fee and secure a 15% discount on the APC for all their researchers publishing in our journals. Other Membership types allow institutions, societies, groups, funders and corporations to cover the full cost of all APCs for researchers at their organization. Supporter Membership is therefore more suitable for institutions who have annual budgets that can't deal with fluctuations in prices.
Features and Benefits of BioMed Central Supporter Membership:
- All researchers within the Supporter Member Institution can take advantage of a 15% discount on the Article Processing Charge when publishing in our open access journals.
- The institution benefits from a cost-effective flat rate annual Membership fee based on the number of biology, chemistry, physics and medical researchers and graduate students at the institution. This provides the institution with an affordable way to support both open access publishing and their researchers.
- All institutional subscriptions to BioMed Central's products purchased by Supporter Members qualify for a 10% discount on the list prices.
- Supporter Members have a customized web page on BioMed Central, which will act as a permanent showcase for the institution. This page features: titles and links to relevant articles generated by the Member institution and published in our open access journals.
Supporter Membership Fees
Fees for Supporter Membership in 2008 are based on the total number of graduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and faculty Members in the relevant departments, i.e. biology, chemistry, physics and medicine. Pricing per annum for academic institutions is as follows:
