About the Collection

Head & Face Medicine is calling for submissions to our Collection on "Innovation & Efficiency in Removable & Fixed Orthodontic Appliances: Multidisciplinary Implications for Cranial & Oral Health". In the ever-evolving landscape of cranial and oral health, it is imperative to continue advancing our collective understanding of reproducibility and tooth arch anatomy in removable orthodontic appliances. This area of research holds significant importance as it directly impacts the development, etiology, epidemiology, and therapy of head and face diseases. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in disease management, encompassing both surgical and non-surgical treatments. Significant advances have already been made in this field, with researchers delving into the reproducibility of orthodontic appliances and the intricate anatomy of tooth arches. These advances have not only enhanced our understanding of cranial and oral health but have also led to the development of more effective treatment modalities. Moreover, they have paved the way for multidisciplinary collaborations, bringing together experts from various fields to address complex health conditions. Continued research in this area holds the promise of further groundbreaking advances. Future research may focus on refining the reproducibility of orthodontic appliances to enhance treatment outcomes and patient comfort. Additionally, advancements in understanding tooth arch anatomy could lead to the development of innovative orthodontic appliances that are more tailored to individual patients, thereby improving treatment efficacy. Furthermore, ongoing research in this domain may uncover novel insights with implications for disciplines beyond orthodontics, such as neurology and facial reconstructive surgery.

This Collection invites researchers to submit their work on a range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Reproducibility of Removable Orthodontic Appliances
- Skeletal and Tooth Movements in Orthodontics
- Multidisciplinary Approaches to Cranial and Oral Health
- Innovative Orthodontic Appliance Design
- New Technologies in Orthodontics
- Patient-Centric Orthodontic Treatment Modalities
