About the Collection

This special issue collects scientific articles that were presented at the 8th International Bio-logging Science (BLS) Symposium, held in Tokyo in March 2024. BLS symposia foster scientists that work with bio-logging, or the use of miniaturized animal-borne sensors. This technology allows scientists to acquire information on the behavior, internal states, and environment of animals. With increasing types of sensors, data-collecting systems, and analytical tools that are becoming readily available, a wide range of biological and environmental research topics are now covered by bio-logging. As such, this special issue had to distribute over two BioMed Central journals: Animal Biotelemetry and Movement Ecology.

Abstract

Please include a statement that this manuscript will be based on a poster or oral presentation at BLS8, by the same title and the same authors as the presentation.
If the authors, title or content differ from the BLS8 presentation please explain why they differ.

When choosing between Animal Biotelemetry and Movement Ecology, please ensure that your manuscript aligns with the scope and all requirements of the journal and explain your choice in the e-mail as well as the cover letter.

Please indicate whether you will request a discount on the publication fees (APC) - note that fees for some organizations may be covered by memberships/transformative agreements with Springer/Nature or BMC.
